How Home Organizing Can Help You Achieve Your New Year's Goals

Updated: May 30, 2023

Can you believe it's already the cusp of a new year? Wasn't it just January of 2022?

If you're like me, you look forward to this time of year. The joy and delight (and clutter and chaos) of Christmas are put away, and your mind is bursting with new energy. Your space is free, clear, and focused —or it will be soon!

There's no better way to prepare for all the fantastic things to come than to rid yourself of everything holding you back. So today, I’m sharing 3 tips on organizing your life for your best year yet!

1. Declutter to Calm the Chaos

A cluttered space breeds a cluttered mind. The opposite is also true! If your area is free of "stuff," your mind can focus on what matters most. Hopes. Dreams. Goals. Plans. This new year, ensure you start your visions off on the right foot by decluttering and organizing the space you see the most.

Do you hole away in your office to envision your ideal 2023? If so, clear your desktop first, and take care of the paper clutter! Is your workspace more in the heart of the home? Then, let's tackle the kitchen drawers and cabinets—maybe you don't need 25 spatulas? (For more kitchen organization tips, check out this guide!)

2. Make Space for Meditation & Mindfulness

Not everything in life is about work. Let's talk about play and self-care. Do you love journaling? Crafting? Meditation? Let's prep those spaces too! Have you ever sat down to write, and all you can see are the piles and clutter surrounding you? Or you're working on a craft but cannot find a specific tool (even though you know you have at least 5)?

It's time to organize! Clear off your worktop, sort through craft supplies, and find yourself a comfy spot. A clear space will prompt creativity and focus!

3. Organization Encourages Physical Activity

Would it even be New Year’s if we didn't talk about exercise? (

Once you free yourself from all the "things" you continually clean up, you'll have so much time on your hands. How about we also use some of that time to seek our physical peak? Find an activity you love, and let's throw that bad boy in there!

Love the Peloton? Hop on that bike! Feeling more social today? Call your BFF and head out for a walk or a hike. Like to throw around weights - awesome! You've already built up some muscle dealing with your clutter, so you'll be swole and ready!!

These ideas may seem lofty if you have a significant amount of organizing to create that dreamy, clutter-free space - but never fear!! With a bit of guidance and encouragement, YOU CAN DO THIS!

Feel like you're ready to take the plunge, but you'd really love our help? Then, we've got you, Boo!
